Frequently Asked Dental Questions

Have a question about your dental care? If so, then the team at Creating Smiles, PC is more than happy to answer it. We’re always willing to take time to explain everything to our patients so they can stay fully informed about their health and make confident treatment decisions. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the frequently asked dental questions we hear every day, but if there is anything else you’d like to know, go ahead and give us a call—there are no silly questions!

When should I get a checkup and cleaning?

The average person, regardless of their age, should attend at least one checkup and cleaning appointment every six months, or two each year. Regular exams allow our team to find and treat problems early before they can cause major damage, and professional cleanings can remove bacteria and tartar from areas of the mouth that your tools at home simply can’t reach, stopping cavities before they ever form.

I’m really scared of the dentist. Can you help?

Our dental office is great with nervous patients. In addition to having a very friendly and understanding team, we also offer a selection of sedation options that are specifically designed to help people relax while they’re in the chair. Give us a call to learn more and see how we can improve your next dental experience.

Which type of dental sedation is right for me?

The answer to this question really depends on you, as in what is your level of dental fear, what kind of procedure do you need, and what other medical concerns might you have? We’ll give you a full exam before making a recommendation, but know that we’ll definitely be able to use sedation in some form to ensure a relaxing visit.

Can my child use dental sedation?

Yes! Nitrous oxide sedation is perfect for anxious children because it’s fast, effective, and very safe. It quickly helps a child feel happy, warm, and calm, and after the appointment, there are no lingering effects, meaning they can go straight back to their day.

Should I get a bridge, denture, or dental implants to replace my missing teeth?

The answer to this question is always different from patient to patient depending on their situation and needs, but in most cases, Dr. Kapers would highly recommend dental implants for anyone who is a good candidate for them. Compared to every other replacement, they are the strongest, most durable, and most natural-looking as well, meaning they check all the boxes! We can give you a more definitive answer when you come to see us for a FREE consultation.

Will you take my dental insurance?

Yes! We are in-network with several popular providers, and we’re able to accept many out-of-network plans as well. To learn how we can use your specific policy to help you save, give our team a call today.
