Every single facet of our practice benefits from our commitment to leading-edge technology. Not only can we find dental issues faster and diagnose them more accurately thanks to instruments like intraoral cameras and digital X-rays, but we can treat them more effectively and comfortably as well. Whenever you come to Creating Smiles, you’ll enjoy the very best that modern-day dental care has to offer. To come experience it for yourself, contact us today.
Our intraoral camera enables us to easily examine the entire oral cavity, including those areas that are hidden from the naked eye. We use a pen-sized camera to take pictures of the teeth and gums, then we put them on a nearby monitor so we can see them nice and clear. This helps us spot any potential problems right away, plus patients can easily understand what is going on in their mouth and how potential treatments might help.
Most of the time, a traditional 2D X-ray is all we need, but when planning for a more complicated procedure (like dental implant placement), that’s when we like to use our 3D cone beam scanner. Instead of a flat image, this instrument creates a highly-detailed X-ray model of the teeth, jaws, and all nearby oral structures. This allows us to completely personalize a procedure so we can ensure its success as well as avoid sensitive facial nerves, which will drastically improve comfort and speed up recovery.
Many oral health problems show their initial signs below the gum line, and to make sure we don’t miss them, we use X-rays every single day in our office. Thankfully, with all-digital X-rays, this process is much faster and more accurate compared to traditional film. Now, we can capture crystal clear images in mere seconds, and patients are exposed to 90% LESS radiation than in the past. This helps our patients save time and enjoy peace of mind at every appointment.
Impressions of the bite give us the ability to design a number of different treatments, from crowns to porcelain veneers to dentures and more. With our Trios 3Shape Impression System, we simply scan the teeth with a small device for a few minutes, and then the images are pieced together by advanced software to create an extremely accurate impression. This is much faster and more comfortable compared to using dental putty, plus we never have to waste time on retakes!
Thanks to our soft tissue laser, we no longer have to treat gum disease using a scalpel and sutures. Rather than literally pulling the gum tissue away so the roots of the teeth can be cleaned, we instead expose the gum line to a highly-concentrated beam of light. This is able to vaporize harmful bacteria without irritating the gums themselves. It also cauterizes and sanitizes an area as it works, leading to a pain-free experience and fast recovery.
