What is restorative dentistry? When you visit our office, our goal is to restore your mouth back to its original state by using the latest technology and minimally invasive treatments. Restorative dentistry allows us to diagnose your dental needs and then treat those issues to help you avoid bigger problems in the future.
Tooth decay is one of the most prevalent health problems in America. About 25 percent of Americans 20 to 64 are living with untreated cavities. These cavities, caused by bacteria and plaque, can lead to tooth loss and very costly dental bills down the road if left untreated. By stopping your decay early and restoring your teeth, we can preserve your natural smile and help you keep it for a lifetime.
Dental fillings are the best way to stop tooth decay in its tracks before it balloons into a larger issue. We use tooth-colored fillings that blend in with your natural smile and strengthen the structure of your tooth.
Tooth-colored fillings are made from a composite material. This type of filling takes a little longer to place, but once the dental restoration is complete, no one will be able to tell that you had a cavity! The material also bonds to your enamel, which means we only have to remove a small portion of your tooth to place the restoration.
For severely decayed and broken teeth, a dental crown can make it look like nothing was ever wrong with it in the first place! These tooth-shaped restorations are fitted over damaged teeth to protect and renew their appearance and strength at the same time, and they can often save a tooth from extraction. Traditionally, they are made using silver or gold, but we’re happy to provide white porcelain crowns that are practically indistinguishable from real teeth.
